Waste Connections of Canada has an immediate opening for a Licensed Mechanic or apprentice to join our team in Edmonton, AB to work on a fleet of garbage trucks. In this position, you will be working on heavy diesel trucks. We do a lot of hydraulics and electrical along with preventative maintenance and minor engine repair. A lot of our fleet is still under warranty! We are looking for a SAFETY inclined, energetic, autonomous and proactive team player capable of making a difference in his/her team and community.
We offer top hourly wages and shift incentives, and as this is a union position, you get great union benefits and a pension plan. We also offer a tool allowance, a boot allowance, supply uniforms, and you will get 5 personal days per year, plus two weeks holidays!
Shift timing: Monday to Friday - 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm
Hourly rate: $46.63 per hour plus $2.00 shift premium for afternoon shift
Location: 3410 - 74 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Equivalent
- 3-4 years of experience in truck and trailer repairs
- 2-3 years with waste experience
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests
