Job Description

Con-Tech General Contractors is looking to add a 2/3rd year Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentice to our growing company. The Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician is required to perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks and trailers and construction equipment. The successful candidate will be working in a team environment that will be responsible for the maintenance but not limited to a fleet of Heavy Equipment, Semi-Trucks and trailers, vehicles, boom lifts, skid steers, scissor lifts, generators, compressors, heaters and other miscellaneous pieces.

The successful candidate will be skilled in the following:

Duties & Responsibilities

Diagnosing, repairing and maintaining equipment Identify potential and future problems Make recommendations on repairs or replacement parts Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting Installation of new and added-on equipment Hydraulic troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair and adjustment of systems Experience with cooling, and lubrication systems Experience with mechanical transmissions, drivetrains and final drives Repair cable-operated working attachments, winches, compressors, pumps, electric generators, etc. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques Maintain a clean and safe work environment Work in a shop in a team environment, but also travel to site when required Possess a valid driver's license - Class 1 with air an asset
