We are looking for an experienced
Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Red Seal would be a benefit, but not mandatory)
to service and repair a variety of equipment--
forklifts, excavators, backhoes, loaders, and other diesel engine equipment
--used in our wallboard manufacturing facility.
What You'll Do
Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment (diesel, hydraulic, electrical systems).
Perform scheduled maintenance to reduce downtime.
Troubleshoot breakdowns quickly and safely to keep production on track.
Perform reactive work trouble shooting of production equipment function, preventing or reducing unplanned equipment delays.
Perform inspections, repairs, rebuilds in both maintenance shops, inside and outside on some mobile equipment as required.
Trouble shoots mechanical-hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
Notifies supervisors of Production and Maintenance of any repairs required.
Keep accurate maintenance records and parts orders.
Collaborate with plant management to plan upgrades and improvements.
What We're Looking For
5+ years'
experience as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician/Mechanic.
Red Seal certification or equivalent practical experience
Ability to read technical manuals and use diagnostic equipment.
Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems.
Safety-first mindset and team spirit.
Must be capable of physically demanding work (inside & outside). Primarily inside.
Knowledge/experience in a Computerized Maintenance Management System is an asset.
Lathe experience is an asset
Welding/machinist experience is benefitial

Hours of Work
Hours of work will involve an 8-12-hours flexible shifts. You can join day, evening or night shifts, rotating schedule may include weekends. In periods of peak workloads additional hours may be required for scheduled shutdowns, emergency breakdowns and scheduled maintenance.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
