eavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

Penn-co Construction is a leading construction company currently hiring a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team working at our shop located in Blumenort, MB and also working remotely in Norther locations. Penn-co offers an excellent benefits package, and a very competitive salary.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, service, and repair a broad inventory of heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, rock trucks, cranes, skid steers, telehandlers, and forklifts. Perform maintenance and repairs on highway trucks and trailers, including brake systems, suspension, powertrains, and emissions systems. Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Perform welding and fabrication repairs as required. Troubleshoot issues and provide efficient on-site solutions to minimize downtime and support field operations. Coordinate repair schedules with the Service Department Supervisor and site leadership; maintain strong communication with both. Maintain accurate service records, time sheets, parts usage logs, and parts requests. Work independently in both remote field environments and a fully equipped shop.
Qualifications

Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification is preferred. All levels will be considered, including apprentices. Valid Class 5 driver's license required; Class 1 or 3 with air brake endorsement is an asset. Must supply own hand tools, travel toolbox, and shop cabinet. Strong mechanical aptitude and proven experience with heavy equipment and on-highway truck/trailer repairs. Ability to travel to remote project locations for work assignments. Effective problem-solving abilities and strong diagnostic skills. Reliable, organized, and capable of managing changing priorities. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a combination of shop environments and outdoor settings, in all weather conditions (heat, dust, cold, rain, etc.). Must be physically capable of performing strenuous tasks including lifting, climbing, and extended periods of standing or kneeling. Travel is required based on jobsite needs.
