What you can expect in a typical day
This role is responsible for the day-to-day servicing of our customers through troubleshooting and performing complex diagnostic activities in regard to service equipment within established policies and procedures. The Heating Service Technician IV has attained full certification and Individuals at this level have developed specialized knowledge/skills in each area or have a broad understanding of many different aspects of a function. Persuasive interaction may be present at this level to encourage change.

Your roles and responsibilities:
  • Respond to service-related customer requests (installations, repairs, etc.) by using industry and company best practices and tools to troubleshoot customer issues. Responsible for responding to customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs within established guidelines.
  • Diagnose and solve complex system problems by completing steps required during inspection, including checking gas flow, thermostats, heat flow, and insulation etc. Review and modify existing methods to find non-apparent solutions.
  • Analyze existing processes, develop more efficient methods and make recommendations to improve them, using best practices and previous experience.
  • Provide consultative services within a broadly defined area. May lead projects with broad scope in own discipline with short to mid term focus
  • Provide final inspections of systems once repairs are completed to ensure all equipment is operating safely
  • Develop an understanding of our products and services to supports operations within Residential Commercial Energy Services and our customers.
  • Provide status updates and pertinent information, as required, to the Service Manager, Fulfillment Managers and other Residential Energy Services team members. Identifies and makes recommendations to protect the business line from risk.
  • Ensure and maintain safe working environment according to safety policies and procedures, including PPE, Leak Prevention, Distracted Driving, etc.
  • Work as a subject matter expert with minimal supervision and possesses the ability to lead work for less experienced employees. Participative and persuasive interaction required to explain difficult concepts and persuade others to adopt a point of view. Strives to motivate other team members.


Professional skills
  • Licensed Oil Burner Heating Technician
  • Dual license (Oil and Gas) an asset.

Education and experience
  • Minimum 4 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience
  • Complete Journeyman\'s and GL1
