Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health & Safety Manager to oversee and enhance our workplace safety programs. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment, and minimizing risks associated with occupational health.

Key Responsibilities:



- Monitor daily site activities to ensure full compliance with safety regulations and the projects Health and Safety Plan
- Conduct safety inspections weekly, risk assessments, and audits - with a focus on high-risk work such as crane operations, PPE compliance, working at heights/fall protection, and hoisting and rigging
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable health and safety legislation
- Create and deliver daily safety talks
- Monitor training matrix to ensure training compliance for all workers/subcontractors on site
- Onboard any new hires with safety orientation, subcontractors and visitors included
- Complete and lead incident investigations, near misses, and unsafe conditions; implement corrective actions and report findings
- Lead Monthly Joint Health and Safety Committee and Worker Trade Committee meetings and inspections
- Maintain detailed records of daily safety logs, incident reports, permits, and safety meeting minutes
- Work collaboratively with the construction and project management teams to embed a strong safety culture onsite
- Experience in managing WSIB claims and the return-to-work process
- Ensure all PPE is fully stocked and the workers have what they need to work safely

Requirements



- 3+ years' experience in Health & Safety role - preferably with a background in Construction
- Knowledgeable in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulations
- Must be able to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment
- Certified Joint Health & Safety Committee Member Required
- Possess a valid working at heights certification, First Aid and CPR is an asset

Qualifications



- Completion of a College Diploma in Health and Safety or related discipline
- Designations such as NCSO or CRSP considered an asset
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Bilingual in French/English considered an asset
