Position Summary

:


The Manufacturing HSE Manager implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, provincial and federal Health Safety and Environmental, (HSE) regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes HSE recommendations accordingly. Ensures compliance with all HSE regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Interfaces with all federal, provincial, and local regulatory bodies. Supports HSE Director and can assume responsibility for certain aspects of that role during any absence.



How You'll Make an Impact




Ensures compliance with all Health Safety & Environment, regulations and corporate policies and procedures. Focused on the implementation of our Health & Safety Management system which includes: (Policy & Procedures, Training & Verification, Monitor JTO's, Accountability progressive disciplinary process & Review for continuous improvement). Implement Environmental, Health and Safety document management programs. Interfaces with all federal, provincial, and local regulatory bodies Introduces change and strives for Health Safety & Environment best practices. Support supervisors to establish & maintain effective due diligence, act as a subject matter expert, auditing compliance. Support the growth of our Health & Safety culture. Support our Joint Health and Safety Committees effectiveness, act as a subject matter expert to achieve legislative compliance. Acts as internal HSE consultant providing leadership, guidance and advice on a wide range of HSE topics. Develop & Deliver essential HSE training sessions for supervisors, Works onsite at Brantford Manufacturing Plant. Works closely with operations to ensure open communication with all employees. Develop Safety Talks & Safety bulletins to support supervisors and maintain open communication and awareness for all employees. Responsible for HSE implementation & compliance at COSME & Techni-Rack Manufacturing locations in Montreal. Plays a leadership role to develop and maintain a safe work environment and culture. Respond to inquiries and address concerns of employees and managers relating to health and safety. Oversee response to customer requests relating to health and safety. Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors with (Accident, Incident investigation, Reporting) monitor trends and conduct follow up investigation to support effective corrective action implementation. Implement monthly workplace inspection standards, reporting and auditing Implement standards in documentation controls, time sensitive report and process efficiencies Prepare weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports Analyze workplace accident/incident trends and make recommendations to management to reduce and eliminate hazards in the workplace. Provide oversight and guidance to HRBP's who manage WCB claims management Provides leadership in HSE functional areas and acts/utilizes equipment in a manner that ensures a safe and incident-free work environment. Manage the activities of the H&S Compliance Specialist located in Brantford Other duties as assigned





What You'll Bring to the Table




5+ years of Health and Safety experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment with a strong knowledge of Ontario Industrial Regulations. Occupational Health & Safety diploma along with specialized Health & Safety training certifications is an asset. Must be available to travel quarterly to COSME & Techni Rack manufacturing branches located in Montreal to provide onsite support and guidance to onsite stakeholders responsible for the day-to-day implementation of safety system. Available to attend offsite meeting, conferences & training events within Canada and the US as required. There is a requirement to work onsite at the Brantford Manufacturing Plant Monday - Friday. Work hours can be flexible as the plant runs two shifts (Day/Afternoon shift) Hybrid is an option, 3 days minimum onsite requirement weekly. Previous management/supervisor experience is an asset for this role Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office 365 acumen. Ability to take initiative and work independently. Ability to maintain a patient, calm & professional demeanor. Requires excellent interpersonal, communication, listening skills. Team oriented with the ability to introduce and influence change with employees and management. Ability to work with detail, analyze information to solve problems. Organized and able to prioritize with a sense of urgency when required. Adaptable and dependable. Able to work varying shifts on occasion when required. Project management skills an asset
