Our goal is to provide high-quality diverse community, home, and individual Mental Health and Addiction services and to support the long-term mental health and wellness of Mental Health and Addiction clients and their families. To support this goal, the North Zone Mental Health and Addiction Services (MHA) department has an exciting opportunity for an MHA Health Promotion Facilitator with the Hinton/Jasper Mental Health and Addiction Services (Child/Youth and Adult). This position is based in Jasper and will serve clients who have been impacted by the recent Jasper Wildfire or who may have an identified mental illness, through a Recovery Psychosocial Rehabilitative framework that promotes client respect, autonomy, health, and improved quality of life. Preferred candidates will reside within the Hinton-Jasper corridor. The Town of Hinton in northwest Alberta, with its stunning view of the Rockies, is located about 284 kms west of Edmonton - close enough to visit friends and family on the weekends and holidays! You are also only 15 minutes from Jasper National Park and an hour from the Town of Jasper - perfect for that after work or a day trip! Besides the national park, you can also take in the natural beauty of one of the provincial parks just minutes away. In town, you'll find public and Catholic K-12 schools offering instruction in English and French, and arts, sports, cultural, and social activities across a wide spectrum. As a Health Promotion Facilitator I, you will assist communities to be healthier through mentoring, advocacy, and education. In this role, you will link individuals and/or communities to relevant health resources within the region or province and work with community partners, workplaces, and health services or to access, plan, implement and evaluate health promotion strategies. You will participate in special studies and/or research projects and review health-related data and identify trends related to population health and at-risk groups. In addition, you will facilitate the development and/or implementation of program-specific guidelines in partnership with other stakeholders. You will plan, develop, and facilitate workshops, seminars, and presentations for staff as well as communities, workplaces, and health services. You will also prepare work plans, budgets, and year-end reports, and provide input for departmental goals and strategies.
