Summary of Duties:
Under the direction of the Health Director, the Health Project Manager leads the successful implementation of new Lilwat Health & Healing initiatives. The Health Project Manager works closely with Lilwat Health & Healing staff, other Lilwat Nation departments, partners, funders and Members to achieve the project milestones and deliverables on time and on budget.
The Health Project Manager uses skills in the areas of teamwork, collaboration, problem solving, planning, time management, delegation, financial management, change management, risk management, continuous improvement, community engagement and effective communications to carry out projects. They lead project using the project management process: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control and closing.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
Works collaboratively with the Health Director to define the parameters of each project including the project goals, scope, timeline, milestones, deliverables, stakeholders, resources, budget and decision-making authority.
Uses a standard project management process to carry out projects: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control and closing.
Develops and carries out project plans, change management plans and communication plans.
Identifies stakeholders and supports stakeholders needs.
Uses collaboration & teamwork to achieve the desired outcomes.
Delegates tasks to teams best suited to complete them.
Uses problem solving skills to overcome obstacles and challenges.
Escalates urgent issues using the established escalation process.
Manages projects within the allotted project budget.
Follows established expense management procedures.
Achieves project milestones and deliverables on time.
Performs project risk assessment and develops risk control plans.
Incorporates continuous improvement into projects and tracks "lessons learned".
Organizes, hosts and documents project meetings.
Maintain project records such as meeting minutes, progress tracking records and update reports.
Develops written progress-to-date and project summaries as required for newsletters, social media, and general updates to staff, other Lilwat Nation departments, the community, and Chiefs and Council.
Gives in-person presentations about projects as required at staff meetings, interdepartmental meetings, community events and Chiefs and Council meetings.
Completes funder reports as required.
Maintains privacy & security of personal and business information learned during project management work.
Perform other related duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
University degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Certificate/ Diploma in Project Management.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in project management preferably in a similar work setting.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.
Ability to meet deadlines prioritizes assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Motivated self-starter and with strong interpersonal skills.
Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members.
Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License, a clean Driver's Abstract, and a reliable vehicle.
Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector.
