We are currently seeking Health Care Aide\'s to join our team that is responsible for hands-on personal care services, light housekeeping and meal service assistance, as well as participation in social-recreational activities.

Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Performs light housekeeping in resident suites and common areas

\xc2\xb7 Support personal care activities; dressing, bathing, incontinence

\xc2\xb7 Simple transfers

\xc2\xb7 Respond to medical emergencies in a calm manner

\xc2\xb7 Assists with resident laundry and meal service as needed

\xc2\xb7 Follow Care Plans and report any changes or concerns

\xc2\xb7 Working with residents to meet care requirements

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate ongoing competence utilizing knowledge, skill, judgment, and evidence-based practice in caring for aging adult is vital in this role

\xc2\xb7 Ensure accordance with provincial continuing care health service standards, legislation, codes, regulations, and employment and safety statutes

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate awareness of accident and injury prevention, through safe work practices and procedures

\xc2\xb7 Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements

What you need to succeed:

\xc2\xb7 Completion of provincial Health Care Aide certification

\xc2\xb7 Registered with provincial health care registry

\xc2\xb7 Experience in a residential care setting is preferred

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate infection control procedures

\xc2\xb7 Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors and operational partners

\xc2\xb7 Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle multi-resident requests

\xc2\xb7 Superior oral and written communication skills

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem solve

\xc2\xb7 Flexibility to work a variety of shifts

\xc2\xb7 Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, squat, kneel and lift 25 pounds

\xc2\xb7 Display compassion, education, proficiency, and experience while assisting residents

Conditions of Employment

\xc2\xb7 Completion of CPR and First Aid

\xc2\xb7 Clear Police Information Check

\xc2\xb7 Clear Vulnerable Sector Check

\xc2\xb7 COVID-19 vaccination proof. This requirement may be waived if you have received an exemption through the provincial government.
