HSE Representative As the HSE Representative you will report to the HSE Manager and Project Manager. The HSE Representative will be responsible to promote a healthy and safe workplace by providing mentoring, coaching, and training to the operational team. This position will work in a team environment to assist in the development and implementation, of programs, policies, and procedures related to HSE. As a leader within the organization, the position will require continuous collaboration across all departments within the organization, as well as to our clients. The position is required to provide informed advice and to coordinate activities related to the Health and Safety program. Qualifications \xc2\xb7 NCSO designation \xc2\xb7 Previous experience in Occupational Health and Safety in a construction setting, preferably in an industrial setting \xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of Provincial OH&S legislation /regulations and industry best practices \xc2\xb7 Strong work ethic, high level of enthusiasm and ability to excel in a flexible, fast paced environment \xc2\xb7 Solid communication and interpersonal skills \xc2\xb7 Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently \xc2\xb7 Willingness to work out of town, including isolated areas requiring travel \xc2\xb7 Possession of a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license \xc2\xb7 Computer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint \xc2\xb7 Ability to exercise discretion, good judgment and take initiative \xc2\xb7 Incident investigation training and experience Key Responsibilities include: \xc2\xb7 Engage at all levels of the organization in achieving a strong zero injury safety culture \xc2\xb7 Assist in reviewing JHA\xe2\x80\x99s \xc2\xb7 Identify conditions that have the potential to create harm to people, work, environments or communities \xc2\xb7 Perform behavior based safety observations of work being completed and provide feedback on safe and at-risk behaviors \xc2\xb7 Conduct comprehensive on-site safety assessments/inspections and verify effective corrective actions are being completed \xc2\xb7 Provide support to the project by maintaining a visible presence to the field performing site visits to the entire project \xc2\xb7 Assist in the coaching, mentoring and implementation of the HS&E programs in the field \xc2\xb7 Ensure contractors and project team members are fully indoctrinated to the construction site and safety expectations, including necessary in house training and education \xc2\xb7 Ensure all required documentation is completed by crew as prescribed by task \xc2\xb7 Lead daily safety talks \xc2\xb7 Manage all required project safety documentation \xc2\xb7 Facilitate weekly safety improvement meetings \xc2\xb7 Monitor contractor activity to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and applicable regulatory requirements \xc2\xb7 Liaise with client safety management and attend all HSE meetings on site as required \xc2\xb7 Accountable to ensure all applicable laws, regulations and company HSE requirements are communicated to project team members and contractors and plans in place to comply \xc2\xb7 Review construction methods as part of project team from early project safety planning through completion of project \xc2\xb7 Forecast and pre-plan high risk activities, which include tasks such as lift plans, elevated work, energizing/testing the plant, etc. \xc2\xb7 Coordinate site safety activity plans with contractors \xc2\xb7 Interpret, research and understand legislative requirements in all aspects including mines regulations, workplace health and safety regulations, training requirements \xc2\xb7 Lead in ensuring supervisors and work crew understand and follow their health and safety requirements Ensure communication to the operational team of any changes in procedures or requirements throughout the project All other safety tasks as directed by the HSE Manger This position is a 14 day on/14 day off rotation - Accommodation and travel compensation is provided Location: Northern Manitoba Job Type: Full-time Salary: $3,600.00 per week Benefits:
