Health & Safety Manager STRATEGIC WORK: 1. Be familiar with current and changing Work Safe B.C. Regulations and Guidelines as they pertain to work that is being performed and ensure senior management/supervisors are aware of any changes that could impact worker safety or planning. 2. Review, assess and update health and safety program to ensure maximum participation, buy-in and compliance of senior management, supervisors and workers. 3. Identify and report issues or deficiencies in company safety program and on specific job sites with recommendations for resolution. 4. Determine and arrange training for all employees in accordance SWP/SJP, legislation and company policies on all worksites. 5. Determine job specific training requirements and communicate those requirements to senior management. 6. Develop a strong Claims Management System to be communicated, implemented with definitive monitoring and stated outcomes. 7. Statistical analysis to identify trends and risk factors. 8. Ensures H & S program functions at a level that meets professional certifications requirements. (ie. COR, ISNET) TACTICAL WORK:
  • Assist with initial and ongoing hazard assessment/inspections as required and review Corrective Action Logs to see that objectives are being met in a timely manner.
  • Accurate and timely documentation and review of all required safety forms and provide feedback as required to senior management.
  • Follow-up with superintendents/supervisors/workers/JOSH Committee to ensure safety concerns are being addressed.
  • Conduct company orientations for new hires/contractors/site visitor.
  • Oversee or provide required safety training and documentation for new hires and returning workers.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory or standard PPE and source pricing and purchase specialized PPE as required.
  • Develop and/or assist in developing site specific SWP/SJP and JHA\xe2\x80\x99s
  • Liaison between Worksafe, Employers Advisors Office, medical professionals for Claims Management and develop appropriate Return-to-work/Stay-at Work action plans.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year Benefits:
