Knowledge of the OHS Act and Regulations
Excellent and professional written and oral communication skills
Excellent safety reporting skills
Above average observation skills
(to be able to recognize all workplace hazards and refer to OHSA regs)
Proficient with computer and mobile applications
Be able to work within a team environment as well as work without supervision
Be able to multi-task and meet deadlines as required
Be able to take direction and learn from Senior Health and Safety Professionals
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Works to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and fulfillment of contractual environmental, health and safety requirements at our external job sites
Supports and provides recommendations on on-site health and safety matters.
Monitors and enforces adherence to all applicable legislation and internal company policies
Conducts site orientations and verifies worker training records
Completes site inspections ensuring timely corrective action
Create SWP's for various construction activities
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines as required
Maintains ongoing communication with management and all staff on all health and safety matters
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety
Computer proficiency
Effective interpersonal skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Effective training and presentation skills
Strong analytical skills
Ability to understand complex processes
Must have experience working on construction job sites
LICENSES AND/OR PROFESSIONAL ACCERDATION
NCSO Designation is preferred.
