Reporting to our Director of Human Resources, the Health and Safety Advisor plays a strategic role in accident prevention, the promotion of a safe work environment, and in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

As Health and Safety Advisor, your key responsibilities include:

Updating, deploying, and ensuring the implementation of prevention policies and programs. Monitoring legal developments and ensuring governance and compliance with occupational health and safety laws and regulations. Contributing to the company's strategic direction in terms of prevention. Guiding and supporting managers in their prevention and SST-related responsibilities, including workplace inspections to properly identify risks, and corrective actions to eliminate health and safety hazards. Planning and conducting audits to ensure compliance with health and safety procedures in the plant (e.g., isolation, lockout/tagout, confined spaces, working at heights, etc.). Representing the employer and collaborating during work refusals, complaints, or inspections by external stakeholders (e.g., CNESST). Playing a leadership role on the Health and Safety Committee, coordinating its activities and communications. Approving new products for the hazardous products system (WHMIS - SIMDUT), coordinating worker training, and maintaining the database with the emergency response team. Administering the program for personal protective equipment (PPE - EPI) based on risks, job roles, and work environments.

To excel in this role, you must have:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (occupational health and safety, ergonomics, industrial relations, or other), Or a combination of a university certificate in occupational health and safety and relevant professional experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in occupational health and safety within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety laws (Quebec and Ontario). Bilingual (French and English), spoken and written. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
