Position Overview

Contractor (Part-Time/Full-Time as required)

Reporting to the NPH leadership team, the Head of Referees is responsible for providing expertise & insights, while overseeing referee development programming & maintaining a high standard for service delivery. This role has been created to fill the needs of the Canadian basketball community and ultimately evolve the sport in our country. The Head of Referees is a leadership role which will continually evolve as the referee sector grows and expands within the company. The Head of Referees coordinates and works closely with the NPH Operations Manager to execute tasks, gather feedback and make adjustments for improvements & peak referee performance.

What You'll Do

Lead referee recruitment, training, and mentorship programs Oversee scheduling, evaluations, and performance feedback Ensure referees deliver professionalism, fairness, and consistency at events Collaborate with NPH Operations to optimize event execution Promote and embody the NPH philosophy:

Represent NPH as a leader in the Canadian basketball referee community

What We're Looking For

Extensive experience as a basketball referee (certification an asset) Proven leadership skills in managing people or programs Strong knowledge of officiating rules and standards Excellent communication, decision-making, and mentorship abilities Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, travel as required)
