Compensation: Up to 120,000/year, based on experienceOur client, a wholesale apparel company, is looking for a Head of Logistics to join their team. The candidate must have experience with Costco, Walmart, or another major retailer.OCS/Purchase Orders:

  • Provide a comprehensive report on the Cost of Goods.
  • Ensure that sourcing is monitored to verify that suppliers/vendors are assigned, with unit costs and the required Cargo Ready Dates (CRD) included.
  • Issue purchase orders to overseas vendors.
  • Create a Master Style in the designated system for visibility.
  • Set up and maintain purchase orders in the system to ensure transparency and tracking.
Traffic/Logistics (Import/Export/Outbound):
  • Coordinate with the production team and overseas suppliers to ensure that merchandise is booked with the forwarder, and container and vessel space is reserved. Ensure timely handover of cargo from the shipper.
  • Prepare all customs documentation and submit to the broker to process clearance prior to container arrival at port.
  • Verify that all necessary documents are submitted to the relevant international locations
  • Ensure that supplier invoices and packing lists match the quantity shipped.
  • Work closely with warehouses to verify that goods are counted per container (including cartons, units, and pallets), ensuring that receiving reports match documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Service team to confirm receipt of official purchase orders, ensuring they are received via EDI, properly routed, and planned for timely delivery to different depots.
  • Provide visibility and reporting on the whereabouts of shipment purchase orders.
  • Monitor the status of shipments with all carriers to ensure Proof of Delivery (POD) is received.
  • Verify and approve freight carrier invoices, keeping records of freight costs per unit and destination.
  • Check parcel courier invoices to ensure charges, discounts, and correct waybill information for specific product lines.
  • Maintain shipping reports and track customs duties and taxes to ensure that imports and inbound units are priced and recorded accurately.
  • Provide and maintain inventory reports for internal stakeholders.
Costing and Financial Responsibilities:
  • Keep accurate records of all marketing funds, including funds signed on, taken, and any deductions related to clients.
  • Provide relevant funding balance information to management teams when necessary.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Verify all accounts payable to ensure payments are approved by designated management.
  • Complete Letter of Credit (L/C) applications for suppliers as authorized by senior management.
  • Verify invoices and issue checks as directed by senior leadership.
  • Perform any additional tasks as needed to support company operations, as directed by management.
