About Volleybox Sports Centre
Volleybox Sports Centre serves more than 600 youth athletes every year in a positive, high-energy environment that focuses on athletic development, teamwork, and confidence building. Our mission is to grow the game of volleyball through great coaching, exceptional programs, and a community where every athlete feels supported.
We are searching for a Head Coach who will lead training programs across the facility and set the standard for what great youth coaching looks like.
Role Summary
This is a hands-on coaching position with leadership responsibilities. The Head Coach directs training for large groups, guides assistant coaches, and helps shape the long-term development pathway for young athletes.
This role is not for supervisors who prefer to watch from the sidelines. It is for someone who loves coaching, thrives on the court, brings high energy, builds strong relationships with kids, and leads by example in every part of the program.
Key Responsibilities
Coach every week with energy and enthusiasm.
Run practices on court alongside assistant coaches. Build confidence, teach skills, and create a fun, positive training experience.
Plan and deliver great sessions.
Create age-appropriate and progressive practice plans that follow LTAD principles. Adjust drills on the spot as needed.
Connect with athletes and families.
Learn names, celebrate progress, and communicate clearly with parents about development goals.
Model the coaching standard.
Guide and mentor part-time coaches by demonstrating strong coaching habits, positive communication, and professionalism.
Take ownership of the facility.
Help with setup, cleanup, equipment care, vacuuming, mopping, and keeping training spaces organized. Treat the gym like it is yours.
Manage program operations.
Assist with scheduling, registration, school outreach, seasonal camps, and clinics. Keep programs running smoothly and consistently.
Engage with the community.
Support school visits, events, and local partnerships that help expand the reach of Volleybox programs.
Support marketing activities.
Participate in photos, social content, and community engagement that highlight the athlete experience.
Maintain reliability and consistency.
Provide steady leadership and continuity during evenings and Sundays when programs are busiest.
Availability Requirements
This role requires consistent coaching during program hours.
You must be available:
Sundays from 11am to 10pm
Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 10pm
If you are not available during these hours, this role will not be the right fit.
Qualifications
High-energy coaching style with the ability to create a fun, positive, and engaging environment for youth athletes.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and a natural ability to connect with children in grades 1 to 10.
Strong presence on the court with the confidence to lead large groups and keep athletes motivated and moving.
Genuine love for coaching youth, teaching fundamentals, and being actively involved in every session.
Reliable, consistent, and fully committed to being present for evening and weekend programs..
Ability to plan structured but flexible practices, adjusting drills on the spot based on athlete needs.
Team-first approach with a willingness to support assistant coaches, collaborate, and lift the group.
Pride in maintaining a clean, organized gym space, including helping with basic facility upkeep.

Valid First Aid certification
Valid driver's license
Salary and Growth
Salary range: $52,000 - $72,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
