Head Chef - Authentic Italian Restaurant (Full-Time)

We are a family-owned Italian restaurant proudly serving Vaughan and the surrounding community for over 30 years. Our loyal guests return for the warm atmosphere and traditional Italian dishes made from scratch.
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and the owner to maintain our established menu while introducing new ideas and daily specials.
Responsibilities
Lead daily kitchen operations including preparation, cooking, plating, and service coordination
Collaborate with the Executive Chef to maintain existing menu standards and develop new items and seasonal specials
Work closely with the owner to uphold restaurant standards and ensure customer satisfaction
Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff for consistent performance
Maintain proper food costing, portion control, and reduce waste
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
Communicate effectively with management and front-of-house teams
Work respectfully with our long-standing kitchen team
Maintain consistency, timing, and presentation of all dishes
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef (Italian cuisine required)
Strong knowledge of authentic Italian cooking, sauces, and ingredients
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage a high-volume kitchen and maintain quality
Knowledge of food cost control and kitchen operations
Culinary diploma or Red Seal certification preferred but not required
Reliable, professional, and able to work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and owner
Professional references will be requested and verified
