About Us

The Village Idiot Bar & Grill is looking for a Head Chef to lead our team.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities. Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest of quality, and are presented to company standards Plan new menu items that complement our existing menu of signature burgers and pizzas Work alongside support staff to ensure recipes are kept updated and correct Manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste while maintain cost controls Lead, train, and inspire a team of sous-chefs, cooks and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment Recruit and hire staff Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs Adhere to all health and safety regulations and ensure the kitchen operates in compliance with local food safety standards

Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a chef, with at least 2 years in a leadership role in a high-volume restaurant setting.

Culinary Skills:

Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, with a focus on burgers, pizzas, and contemporary cuisine.

Leadership Abilities:

Proven track record of managing and developing a successful kitchen team.

Creativity:

Ability to innovate and develop unique menu items and seasonal specials.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with staff and management.

Education:

Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
