Seeking a Culinary Leader for our Lounge

The Monte Lounge is excited to announce that we will be searching for a new Head Chef to join our team in the new year. Located in the heart of Almonte, Ontario, The Monte Lounge is known for its vibrant atmosphere, contemporary style, and dedication to exceptional culinary experiences. Our Lounge blends modern comfort with an upscale yet welcoming vibe, offering guests a unique destination for memorable evenings, inventive cocktails, and exquisite meals.

Position Overview

The Head Chef at The Monte Lounge is responsible for leading and overseeing all kitchen operations. This pivotal role demands creativity, professionalism, and a passion for culinary excellence. The successful candidate will be accountable for the overall performance of the kitchen, ensuring that every dish reflects our commitment to quality and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Direct all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, and plating standards.

Lead, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality culinary experiences that align with The Monte Lounge's spirit and standards.

Manage inventory, food costs, and supplier relationships to maintain profitability and efficiency.

Maintain strict hygiene and safety protocols, in accordance with Canadian regulations.

Oversee scheduling, hiring, and training of kitchen personnel.

Collaborate with management to support Lounge events and special occasions.

Stay current with culinary trends and incorporate creative ideas into the menu.

Qualifications

Red Seal Chef Certification or equivalent culinary training.

Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role within a high-end restaurant or lounge.

Strong organizational, communication, and team leadership skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Passion for innovative cuisine and exceptional guest experiences.

Knowledge of Canadian food safety standards and regulations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$62,500.00 per year

Work Location: In person
