Job Purpose

We are looking for an energetic and dedicated Harness Assembly Technician individual to join our GPT team. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Harness Assembly Technician will be responsible for the assembly, labelling, and testing of a variety of harnesses used in GPT's standard and custom panels and other final products for remote power systems, working under the direct supervision of the Panel Shop Lead. This position will be required to build and test products per defined processes and standards (ISA, CSA, EICex).

Responsibilities

- Assemble and test electricalwire harnesses for custom-engineered and standard GPT products

- Execute the build harness as per the schedule to ensure the product's on-time delivery

- Execute test procedures and support the Engineering teams on design optimization

- Continuously learn and apply new skills, including operating additional equipment or performing new tasks to support production needs

- Perform repairs and assembly tasks under the guidance and supervision of your team leader, ensuring all work meets quality standards and project timelines

- Responsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts

- Perform other work as assigned

- The successful candidate would be willing to be trained and learn new skillsets as it pertains to this position, as outlined in the responsibilities above

Requirements

- High School diploma

- 1+ year of relevant work experience

- Demonstrated experience working with a variety of crimping and stripping tools, good mechanical aptitude

- Able to read and interpret electrical prints and schematics

- Able to focus on details

- Able to work with fine components of variety of colors

- Soldering experience is an asset

- Ability to work quickly, while always utilizing safe work practices

- Ability to stand, stoop and/or kneel for extended periods of time

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs pounds at a time

- Knowledge of manufacturing principles is an asset
