Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Handyman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of renovation and construction, including but not limited to carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance. The Handyman will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of tasks to support our projects, ensuring that they are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:



Carpentry:


Install and repair doors, windows, cabinets, and trim.

Construct framing for walls, ceilings, and floors.

Perform repairs and maintenance on wooden structures and fixtures.

Painting:


Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, scraping, and filling holes.

Apply paint, stain, or other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.

Ensure proper coverage and finish quality, including touch-ups as needed.

Plumbing:


Assist with the installation and repair of plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, toilets, and faucets.

Identify and repair leaks, clogs, and other plumbing issues.

Collaborate with licensed plumbers as needed to complete tasks safely and effectively.

Electrical Work:


Assist with electrical installations, such as lighting fixtures, outlets, and switches.

Troubleshoot electrical issues and make repairs under the supervision of licensed electricians.

Follow electrical codes and safety standards to ensure compliance and minimize risks.

General Maintenance:


Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing squeaky doors, and lubricating hinges.

Repair or replace damaged fixtures, hardware, and equipment.

Conduct inspections to identify potential maintenance needs and address them proactively.

Safety and Compliance:


Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices at all times.

Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors promptly.

Communication and Collaboration:


Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to coordinate tasks and ensure project objectives are met.

Collaborate with other tradespeople, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate project progress and resolve issues efficiently.

Tool Maintenance:


Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, including cleaning, sharpening, and lubricating as needed.

Report any malfunctioning or damaged tools to supervisors for repair or replacement.

Qualifications:



Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Handyman or similar role in the construction or renovation industry. Proficiency in a variety of construction trades, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance. Strong knowledge of hand and power tools and their safe use. Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Valid driver's license. Willingness to adhere to safety standards and regulations. Must own and operate a reliable van suitable for materials/equipment transportation. Must have knowledge of how to properly arrange, secure, and safely transport renovation materials and equipment in alignment with each project's requirements. Must own and use a full set of proper tools required to perform the job effectively and independently. Compensation will be provided on a per-project or piece-of-work basis.

Education and Training:



High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certifications in construction trades.
