Job Summary

A Metal Handyman is a versatile tradesperson proficient in metal fabrication, welding, and general maintenance tasks. This role involves creating and repairing metal structures and components, as well as performing a variety of general maintenance duties in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Metalworking & Fabrication:

Blueprint Interpretation:

Read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings to determine project specifications.

Metal Cutting & Shaping:

Use tools like shears, brakes, punches, and CNC machines to cut, bend, and shape metal materials.

Welding & Assembly:

Weld, solder, or rivet metal parts to assemble or repair structures such as ducts, frames, and partitions.

Installation:

Install fabricated metal components according to specifications and safety standards.

Maintenance:

Regularly inspect and maintain tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
General Handyman Tasks:

Repairs & Maintenance:

Perform minor repairs and maintenance on heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems.

General Handyman Duties:

Carry out tasks such as painting, drywall repair, and furniture assembly.

Safety Compliance:

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

Customer Interaction:

Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions.

Inventory Management:

Maintain an inventory of tools and materials, and order supplies as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; certification in welding or metalworking is a plus.

Experience:

Proven experience in metal fabrication and general maintenance tasks.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in using metalworking machinery and hand tools; basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Work Environment:

Settings:

Work may be performed in residential homes, commercial buildings, or industrial sites.

Conditions:

Exposure to various weather conditions, noise, and potential hazards; adherence to safety protocols is essential.

Pay: $20.31-$21.47 per hour
