Job Title: Hands-On Interim Accounting Manager
Location: Scarborough, ON (5 days onsite for first month, hybrid potential after month one)
Contract Length: 3 months, with potential for extension
Position Overview
Our client, is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Interim Accounting Manager for an immediate onsite contract assignment. This opportunity is ideal for a self-motivated finance professional who excels at troubleshooting, performing detailed reconciliations, and quickly resolving complex accounting issues. Previous exposure in healthcare, Government, or public sector environments is strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Director of Finance to oversee all aspects of financial management.
• Lead catch-up and full clean-up of account reconciliations, focusing on aged receivables, accruals, and legacy items.
• Investigate and troubleshoot discrepancies, providing actionable insights and direct recommendations to leadership.
• Execute hands-on tasks across full-cycle accounting, including AR, AP, and Payroll (ADP).
• Act as a "doer"-untangling complex accounts, identifying issues, and implementing process improvements.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including Ministry of Health representatives, as required.
• Utilize strong Excel skills for reconciliation work; mayor ERP system experience is an asset.
• Support deadline-driven month-end and year-end close processes.

Requirements:
Qualifications:

• CPA designation or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated, hands-on experience in audit, financial troubleshooting, and reconciliations.
• Proven background in healthcare, public sector, or government-funded organizations is a strong asset.
• Full-cycle accounting experience (AR, AP, Payroll).
• Critical thinker able to work autonomously, adapt quickly, and communicate effectively with leadership.
• Comfortable in a high-volume, detail-oriented, and fast-paced environment.
• Must be available and able to work onsite in Scarborough (hybrid potentially available after initial first month).
