We are seeking a good Butchery Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality meat products and very good service. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in food handling, meat cutting and food preparation within a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in butchery while ensuring food safety standards are maintained. The Butchery Assistant will support daily operations by preparing, packaging, and presenting meat products to meet customer standards and uphold our company's reputation for quality.

Duties

Assist with meat cutting, trimming, and portioning according to specifications Prepare meat products for display and packaging, ensuring proper presentation Handle food safely by following hygiene and sanitation protocols Support inventory management by stocking shelves and rotating stock as needed Maintain cleanliness of the work area, tools, and equipment in compliance with safety standards Provide good customer service by answering questions and assisting customers with their selections Follow all food safety regulations during food handling and preparation processes Assist in receiving deliveries and inspecting incoming meat products for quality and freshness

Qualifications

Previous knowledge in the food industry, particularly in butchery or meat preparation, is preferred Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards Ability to perform precise meat cutting and food preparation tasks Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor Kitchen experience or familiarity with food packaging is a plus Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety guidelines
