About the Museum:
The Britannia Mine Museum is located on the ancestral and unceded territory of the SkSk?wx?wu7mesh Squamish Nation along the beautiful shores of Howe Sound.
This year (2025) marks our 50th Anniversary as a Museum and we are always excited to grow the team.
The Museum is a self-sustaining, non-profit organization, that creates accessible learning experiences to inspire discovery and connection through guided interpretive programming, self exploration opportunities, and the preservation of our historical site and artifacts.

About You:
You are an up and coming 'Tourism Superstar' who is passionate about working at one of the best attractions the Sea-to-Sky Corridor has to offer! You have a real passion for growing within the travel, tourism and cultural services (museum) sectors.
You have (at minimum) a high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in tourism, business, museum studies or hospitality is considered an asset .
At least one year of experience in customer service-related position is required to apply (former experience in a reservations role in the tourism/cultural services (museum) sectors an asset).
Skills and attributes needed for this role include:
providing great customer service;
friendly and calm;
highly organized with strong time management skills;
ability to maintain focus while working in a fast-paced environment;
self-directed, extremely positive and adaptable;
proficient with all windows-based applications;
Knowledgeable about "customer flow" from first phone call through to leaving the Museum; understands Museum operations.
About the Role:
This is a regular, part-time role (Ideally Saturday, Sunday & Monday).
Benefits and an RRSP matching program are available at 3 months after a successful probation period.
The Guest Experience Associate is the first person guests meet when they arrive to the Museum. This is an amazing opportunity to hone your skills as an ambassador by welcoming guests, taking reservations and assisting with school and education programs, specialty groups, events, and travel trade groups.
Reporting to the Director of Museum Programs & Guest Experience with oversight from Guest Experience Coordinator this role ensures that all guests are met to a standard of excellence and that the front-end operations for museum admissions runs smoothly. The Guest Experience Associate will gain and share their in-depth knowledge of the Museum (the site and its' history, programs, activities, & exhibits.)
Main Duties will include but are not limited to:
Welcoming and processing all guest admissions, bookings, sales and inquiries.
Sharing accurate and clear information with guests.
Administer and ensure the tunnel manifest is accurate at all times, coordinating closely with the Museum's Interpreters.
Ensure all guest safety protocols are followed at all times.
Manage and adjust tours for late arrivals, special needs, overbooking etc.
Learn, process and administer all special museum codes; refunds; discounts and special programs.
Administer and promote the museum's membership program.
Ensure that that the admissions area is tidy, organized, well stocked
Prepare daily reports on tour numbers, guest numbers and revenue.
Adhere to the BMM Code of Conduct and all applicable policies.
Collect data, tracking membership statistics, and preparing reports.
