Job Summary

The Cannabis Grow Technician is a contract-based role responsible for supporting the cultivation, care, and quality of cannabis plants through all growth stages. This position focuses on plant maintenance, environmental monitoring, and compliance with regulated standards. The Grow Technician reports to the Master Grower and works alongside a professional cultivation team to produce high-quality cannabis that meets internal and third-party requirements.

Responsibilities

Cultivation & Plant Care

Perform daily care of cannabis plants (watering, pruning, defoliation, transplanting, training, etc.). Assist with propagation tasks (cloning, trimming cuttings, preparing media, mother plant care). Monitor plant health and report pest, nutrient, mold, disease, or stress concerns. Support nutrient mixing, irrigation adjustments, and EC/pH readings (as trained).
Environmental & Equipment Monitoring

Record environmental data (temperature, humidity, VPD, light, CO?). Assist with cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of cultivation tools and equipment. Operate machinery safely after appropriate training.
Harvest & Post-Harvest Support

Assist with harvest duties (cutting, bucking, trimming, weighing, drying setup). Handle product carefully to prevent damage to trichomes and cannabinoid content. Comply with all sanitation requirements post-harvest.
Compliance & Documentation

Follow Health Canada regulations, GPP/GACP standards, and internal SOPs. Complete accurate cultivation logs, cleaning forms, and inventory entries. Maintain full traceability of all cannabis material and movements.
Sanitation & Facility Standards

Clean cultivation rooms, tools, carts, PPE, and drains routinely. Adhere to contamination control practices at all times.

Qualifications

Required

Experience working in a Health Canada licensed cannabis cultivation facility Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs precisely. Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical work.
Preferred

Knowledge of EC/pH testing, automated irrigation, or crop steering.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
