Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Groomer to join our animal care team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to a variety of pets, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of pet grooming techniques, animal handling, and customer service. The Groomer will work closely with pet owners to deliver tailored grooming experiences while maintaining high standards of animal care and hygiene.

Responsibilities

Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, clipping, and styling of different breeds and sizes of dogs and other pets Handle animals safely and humanely during grooming procedures, utilizing animal restraint techniques as needed Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools and work areas in accordance with health standards Assess each pet's health condition prior to grooming and report any concerns to veterinary staff or pet owners Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences and special needs Assist with pet handling during appointments, ensuring animals are comfortable and stress-free throughout the process Maintain detailed records of grooming services provided and any special instructions or notes from pet owners

Experience

Prior experience in pet grooming is preferred, including knowledge of breed-specific cuts and styles Dog training experience is a plus, along with veterinary technician or assistant background Animal handling skills across various species such as dogs, cats, or equines are highly desirable Experience with veterinary or kennel environments demonstrates strong animal care skills Customer service experience is beneficial for engaging positively with pet owners Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for handling larger animals or equipment Familiarity with pet sitting, animal restraint techniques, and general pet care practices enhances suitability for this role
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 24 per week
