Duties & Responsibilities



Department Operations



Stock shelves and displays with grocery items, ensuring they are front-facing and visually appealing. Rotate products and remove expired or damaged items to maintain freshness and quality. Maintain accurate signage and pricing throughout the department. Organize and manage back stock to ensure easy access and inventory accuracy. Create attractive displays that reflect Sunterra's merchandising standards. Operate and sanitize grocery equipment safely and properly. Maintain cleanliness of the grocery department, including sweeping floors and completing sanitization logs.

Customer Service



Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers regarding product locations and inquiries. Select appropriate substitute products for customers when needed. Answer department phone calls and respond to pages promptly and professionally. Contribute to a welcoming and informative shopping experience.

Sales & Merchandising



Assist with the execution of merchandising plans and seasonal promotions. Support the sampling program by keeping sample areas clean, stocked, and inviting. Stay informed about new products and help with their placement and presentation.

Cross-Functional Support



Assist with Stockperson duties as needed, including bagging groceries and walk-outs. Support the online grocery ordering department by fulfilling orders and shopping cross-departmentally. Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and safe work practices.

Qualifications



Experience in grocery or retail operations preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. WHMIS and Food Safety Certification required (training provided by Sunterra).

Working Conditions



Standing and walking for extended periods. Repetitive lifting of items up to 40 lbs (team lift required for heavier items). Exposure to temperature variations in storage and refrigerated areas. Use of ladders, box cutters, and other grocery equipment. May require bending, reaching, and working in tight spaces.
Full-time and part-time Team Members will receive a discount of 50% off selected prepared foods when enjoyed in-store (these items vary by location) and a general discount on all groceries in-store and the cafe!
