Schedule: 6:00am-2:00pm, weekends

Wage: $17/hour

Location: Canadian Forces College, North York ON

Job Summary

Considered a Line Cook responsible for running the grill operations. Prepares food and serves customers at the grill station in accordance with current applicable corporate standards, guidelines and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Prepare item for broiling, grilling, frying, saut\xc3\xa9ing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
• Use established ticket-collection procedures during service. Responsible for records from area worked during service periods.
• Comply with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saut\xc3\xa9 burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
• Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.

Qualifications:

• Two years working experience as a grill cook or in kitchen preparation and cooking.

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
