Greenhouse Sanitation Worker Whole Leaf Star Produce Ltd. (The Star Group) Coaldale, AB Status: Full Time, Permanent (part-time positions also available) Hours: 2:30pm\xe2\x80\x9311:00pm Starting Wage: $16.50/hr Whole Leaf, part of the Star Group of companies, houses five greenhouse technologies all under one roof and is truly state of the art in all facets. Whole Leaf is a world leader in sustainable greenhouse grown, one of a kind leafy greens with just over 11 acres of growing space. We are the exclusive grower of Inspired Greens and Inspired Leaves and our lettuce is grown clean year round without the use of pesticides. Robotic equipment is used ensuring that our many varieties of lettuce are untouched by human hands throughout their life cycle in the greenhouse. With products listed at all major retailers and foodservice companies Whole Leaf continues to set a high bar as the best greenhouse grown greens available in the world. *The greenhouse is located outside of Coaldale and we ask that individuals have reliable transportation to and from work. Focus The Greenhouse Sanitation Worker\xe2\x80\x99s primary focus is to keep all areas of the greenhouse and the equipment within in a clean and orderly condition. Additionally, Greenhouse Sanitation Workers observe, report, and correct issues of food safety (pest sightings, potential contaminations, etc.). Key Accountabilities:

• Use approved chemicals to sanitize equipment, machinery, and food contact surfaces
• Pressure wash and scrub surfaces and equipment
• Sweep and mop floors; dispose of waste
• Adhere to safety policies (OHS and Food Safety)
• Additional tasks as assigned/necessary

Key Attributes and Skills

• Ability to understand spoken English
• Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate safety labels on chemical containers
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team

Education and Experience:

• High school or equivalent
• Sanitation experience is an asset
• WHMIS certification is an asset
• First aid certification is an asset
• Forklift experience/certification is an asset
• Tractor loader experience/certification is an asset

Working Conditions

• Must be able to work in hot and humid climates found in greenhouses
• Hours may be irregular and in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week, work outside of ordinary office hours (including weekends and holidays) may be required

Physical Requirements

• Safely lift up to 50lbs
• Stand and walk for up to three hours at a time
• Climb ladders and stairs regularly
• Crouch and kneel regularly
