POSITION SUMMARY

The Greenhouse Packing Supervisor is primarily responsible for directing a team to pack processed plants for customer delivery, and act as back up to the Plant Administrator. This position will appeal to someone with strong organizational skills who works well with a team under pressure. This person will work under the direction of the Plant Operations Manager to fulfill these responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with and directs a small team (1-5 works) to pack plants for pick up; Ensures orders are fulfilled correctly and in timely manner; communicates any shortages/delays or orders that cannot be completed; Provide back up to the Plant Administrator such as generating purchase orders, labels and order supplies; Maintains box making and taper machines; Trains and supervises team members to ensure they are working safely and efficiently; Will occasionally perform other greenhouse maintenance duties; Works in compliance with company policies/procedures and all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements; Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 1 year greenhouse experience.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Strong organizational skills ability to prioritize; Good leadership skills to train and direct a small team; Good judgment/ability to make decisions; Strong verbal communication skills; Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members; Flexibility to work overtime as necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to stand 8+ hours per day; Ability to lift to 50 lbs frequently; Ability to push 50-100 lbs occasionally; Working in a cool/ warm, humid indoor environment with moderate noise level and around moving machinery.
