The Green Certificate Program provides hands-on, agriculture-based apprenticeship-style training to high school students and adult learners across Alberta. As a Green Certificate Coordinator, you will support agricultural education, build regional partnerships, and guide participants through their training journey.

Position Overview
The Coordinator independently manages all aspects of the Green Certificate Program within their region (Region 3 - North East - Lakeland College) --including marketing and promotion, participant recruitment, program administration, testing coordination, and communication with schools, trainers, trainees, employers, testers, and the provincial office--and does so in a year-to-year contract position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing & Regional Promotion
Promote the program to schools, employers, and community partners.
Attend career fairs and outreach events.
Recruit trainers, trainees, schools, and testers.
Maintain communication with stakeholders and support onboarding.
2. Program Delivery & Administration
Respond to applications, register trainees, and conduct induction sessions.
Ensure participants understand their roles and expectations.
Maintain accurate trainee records and update the provincial administrator.
Support trainees, trainers, schools, and employers throughout the program.
3. Regional Testing Coordination
Organize and manage certification testing sessions.
Secure testers and ensure proper testing procedures.
Arrange test sites and coordinate hands-on testing.
Develop schedules, notify schools, and maintain testing documentation.
4. Representation & Collaboration
Share regional needs and updates with the provincial coordinator.
Attend meetings and conference calls with other coordinators.
Forward curriculum questions or concerns to the provincial office.
Support provincial initiatives and communicate regional activities regularly.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in agriculture, education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Knowledge of the agriculture industry is an asset.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Highly organized with strong record-keeping abilities.
Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
Comfortable presenting and coordinating events.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the region.
