Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has a great opportunity for a Graphics Designer. The successful incumbent will update technical publications in support of F404/J85/ETF programs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Edit and update Adobe FrameMaker files.
  • Create and make changes to illustrations/images using manipulations and by employing the necessary PC hardware and software tools.
  • Design and complete the final product (i.e. show panel, brochure, pamphlet) in accordance with customer specifications using the necessary hardware and software tools.
  • Check intermediate and finished product for accuracy and correctness.
  • Liaison with technical personnel and sub-contractors as required.
  • Maintain the digital library of images and perform certain clerical duties.
  • Use graphics design tools to edit Vector graphics files and export them in the following file formats: cgm, gif, tiff, png, jpeg. .des and other file formats as desirable.
  • Create PDF and TIFF files from Engineers.
  • Modify TIFF and bitmap images Create forms in PDF.
Position Requirements
  • Formal education in Graphics Design, Desktop Publishing or Technical Writing
  • Desktop publishing, technical writing and programming skills.
  • Familiarity with desktop publishing / IETM related software capabilities
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow directions from drawings and written procedures and follow verbal instructions.
  • Experience with FrameMaker will be considered an asset.
  • Eligible for Canadian Controlled Goods and Contract Security registration
