The Corporation of the City of North Bay is accepting applications for the Temporary Full-Time position of Graphic Design & Communication Assistant. This position is being offered as a
6-month contract, with the possibility of an extension
. Reporting to the Communications Officer, the assistant will provide support in creating engaging public communications and promotional materials. This role involves designing graphics, logos, brochures, and posters; producing and editing content for the City's website and social media platforms; and assisting in the planning of media events and public announcements.
Major Responsibilities of this role include:
Assisting in design of social media/website graphics and other marketing material and assisting in updating and maintaining the City of North Bay's social media presence.
Assisting in planning media events, announcements, writing news releases and public service announcements.
Updating City of North Bay's website with relevant news, project updates, etc.
Qualifications:
Completed or working toward a diploma or degree in a related field such as Graphic Design, Marketing/Communications
1-year relevant experience in Graphic Design, Marketing and/or Communications
Proficient with social media tools and platforms
Proficient with website content management and graphic design
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well independently, and within a team
Assets:
Photography/videography skills
Experience working within the public sector or similar environment
Hours of work:
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (35 hours/week) in office. This position may require you to work outside of these regular work hours at different occasions.
The 2025 salary range for this non-union position is
$54,992-$68,721.
