We are seeking a highly organized and self-motivated individual to take on the key role of serving as the primary point of contact for individuals and organizations seeking or receiving funding from the Shevchenko Foundation.
Grants Officer
(Full-time - Winnipeg, MB)
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Grants Officer plays a key role in supporting the mission and operations of the Shevchenko Foundation (TSF). This position works collaboratively across all program areas, including Finance and Communications to support the full grant lifecycle, from application to reporting. The Grants Officer also serves as the system administrator for TSF's grants management database and leads the planning and implementation of any system migrations or upgrades to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
GRANT MANAGEMENT
Administer and oversee assigned grant programs, ensuring effective delivery and alignment with the Foundation's priorities.
Monitor grants for legal, financial, and program compliance including but not limited to ensuring that grant requirements are correctly documented in the grant files and database.
Manage grant processes, including workflows, forms, templates, and reporting tools, to support transparency and accountability.
Generate reports and data analysis to support internal departments and inform strategic decision-making.
Build and maintain relationships with artists, creatives, donors, and community partners to enhance engagement and visibility.
Conduct outreach and consultations to support underrepresented arts and culture communities.
Address grant-related issues in collaboration with the Executive Director and department leads.
Deliver training and support to applicants on the grant writing and application process.
Travel as needed and represent the Foundation at events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Collaborate with internal teams on grants-related communications, materials, and record management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Post secondary in business administration or communications is preferred.
Knowledge of the Ukrainian Canadian community and the Ukrainian Canadian arts, heritage and education sectors an asset.
Computer literacy, including Office 365 is required.
Demonstrated ability to uphold confidentiality and manage conflicts of interest in accordance with organizational policies and ethical standards.
Excellent written and oral communications (English required, Ukrainian asset).
Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills with a proven ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while adhering to internal controls, policies, and monitoring processes.
Ability to work Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
