Graduate Teaching Assistant, JSGS 838The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (JSGS) invites applications for a Teaching Assistant for the following course during the 2024-25 Winter session.Required Number of Hours: 120 hours total for the duration of the appointment

Start and End Dates: January 2 to April 30, 2025In the appointment of Teaching Assistant, the general duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Assisting with grading work;
  • Helping to maintain the class discussion forums (as applicable);
  • Providing tutorials on financial management and/or briefing note writing to students;
  • Providing technical support for the online Treasury Board Simulation event;
  • Conferring with the instructor as needed; and
  • Providing assistance with other course matters as assigned.
This position will provide support to Dr. Yang Yang, course instructor.Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)The candidate should have experience in finance or financial management in the public sector, as well as writing and assessing briefing notes. The candidate will also provide technical support for the online Treasury Board Simulation event, including creating different portfolio versions (e.g., in Google Docs) and managing breakout rooms based on assigned roles (in Zoom). Experience as a TA would be an asset.The incumbent must be registered in a graduate program at the University of Saskatchewan; priority will be given to students enrolled in the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.
