Village Farms Canada is seeking a dedicated and skilled

Maintenance Technician

to join our Grading Line operations. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth functioning of our packhouse and grading line equipment, which are critical to our fresh produce operations across multiple divisions including Delta, Fort Davis, and Vancouver.


As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of production and facility equipment. Your work will directly support our commitment to minimizing downtime and maintaining high standards of food safety and operational efficiency.

Position Purpose:

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Repair and Maintenance of Packhouse and Grading Line equipment to ensure downtime is minimized.


i.e. Fruit Sorting Line, Vision Systems, Corrugate Erectors, Labelling Systems, Conveyor, Top seal machine and Control Systems

Repair and Maintenance of Greenhouse systems and equipment

Repair and Maintenance of packhouse Motorized Equipment ie. Forklifts, Palletjacks, Scooters,

Coordination/Organization of maintenance supplies, spare parts, and tools to ensure that downtime is minimized along while keeping costs within budget

Participation in the Food Safety Program and Safety Committee in order to ensure that the packhouse is compliant with all food safety regulations and WCB requirements

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

Perform daily, weekly and monthly checklists for all equipment

OTHER DUTIES

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Village Farms International, Inc. from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Provide weekend ( Saturday ) coverage as required

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent is required Post Secondary in a related field is considered an asset

EXPERIENCE

Minimume 1-2 years experience in a mechanical/electrical environment

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

* Power Engineer ticket or Trade ticket an asset
