Position Summary:
We are seeking a caring, qualified, and enthusiastic
Grade 1 Teacher
to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, understands the Ontario curriculum, and is committed to fostering a faith-based learning environment that supports each child's academic, emotional, and spiritual growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects (Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies) in alignment with the
Ontario curriculum
.
Create a warm, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that reflects
Islamic values
.
Integrate Islamic perspectives and morals where appropriate across subjects.
Use a variety of instructional strategies to support different learning styles and abilities.
Assess and monitor student progress using diagnostic, formative, and summative tools.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student achievement and behavior.
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, and professional growth.
Participate in school-wide Islamic programming, assemblies, and community-building activities.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with certification to teach in Ontario (OCT certification or in progress).
Knowledge of or experience with the
Ontario elementary curriculum
.
Experience working with children in primary grades, preferably Grade 1.
A practicing Muslim with a clear understanding of
Islamic values and teachings
.
Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Commitment to child-centered and inclusive teaching practices.
Preferred:
Experience working in an Islamic school setting.
Training in literacy and numeracy development at the primary level.
Ability to incorporate
Qur'anic values, Hadith, and Islamic history
into general subjects when relevant.
Familiarity with differentiated instruction, ELL strategies, or special education support.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
