Job Summary
The Golf Specialist is responsible for teaching the fundamentals of golf, fostering skill development, and creating a fun and encouraging environment for campers. This includes leading engaging golf sessions, supervising use of the camp's golf simulator, and ensuring all activities are conducted safely.
The Golf Specialist works closely with counsellors, fellow specialists, and the Program Coordinator to support campers of all skill levels. They help create an inclusive program that inspires confidence, curiosity, and enjoyment of the sport.
Responsibilities
Teach campers the basics of golf, including grip, stance, swing techniques, and general game awareness.
Lead interactive, fun golf sessions tailored to various ages and abilities.
Supervise and support campers as they use the camp's golf simulator, ensuring safety and proper usage.
Create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all participants.
Provide individualized instruction and encouragement to help campers build confidence and skills.
Ensure a safe environment by following all camp safety guidelines and equipment procedures.
Collaborate with counsellors, specialists, and leadership to integrate golf activities into the camp program.
Maintain a professional, welcoming, and approachable demeanor when interacting with campers, parents, and staff.
Experience
Multiple years of experience playing golf with a strong understanding of the game's fundamentals.
Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting.
Experience teaching or coaching golf is highly preferred.
Ability to create a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment for kids.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team and respond to diverse situations with patience and professionalism.
