As a key member of our team the Golf Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of golf operations at Naturally Pacific Resort, including Velocity Driving Range, Campbell River Golf Club, and Elements Apparel + Golf. This role ensures seamless daily operations, manages and optimizes the department budget, and drives revenue growth through strategic planning and marketing initiatives. The Golf Operations Manager leads a large and diverse team, overseeing hiring, training, and performance management to maintain high service standards. The ideal candidate has extensive golf operations experience, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to drive service excellence.
Your contributions to the team include:

• Oversee daily golf operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service across all areas.
• Hire, coach, develop, and manage staff across all golf-related areas.
• Conduct performance reviews, set departmental goals, and manage disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
• Eliminate redundancy and inefficiencies by streamlining workflows between departments.
• Communicate regularly with ownership, resort management, and other department heads to coordinate activities and align strategic goals.
• Collect and review customer feedback, implementing improvements based on insights.
• Control and direct the maintenance, care, and improvement of the grounds, including facilities, irrigation systems, equipment, soil fertility, and pest control programs.
• Maintain the golf course, Velocity, Elements, and assets to a high standard.
• Closely monitor playing conditions and promptly addresses turf quality issues.
• Recommend and supervise the purchase, lease, installation, and maintenance of golf course, Velocity, and Elements equipment and ensures its improvement and upkeep.
• Plan all golf related maintenance and project work, applying agronomic and administrative expertise to achieve the agreed-upon maintenance standards and long-range goals.
• Keep accurate and complete records of all things related to golf operations.
• Prepare the annual budget for the department.
• Adhere to budgeted targets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective operations.
• Prepare and present reports to hotel management and stakeholders on operational performance and strategic recommendations.
• Develop and organize work schedules for all golf operations staff.
• Act as the ambassador for all golf-related areas, representing the club internally and within the community.
• Develop and execute a Sales & Marketing Plan that aligns with the Resort's overall sales and marketing strategy.
• Drive revenue through memberships, promotions, tournaments, and special events.
• Work collaboratively with the Spa, Food & Beverage, and Hotel Operations teams to create appealing and integrated resort packages.
• Attend golf-related events, trade shows, and industry gatherings to enhance brand visibility and foster partnerships.
• Ensure full compliance with corporate and legal Health & Safety requirements.
• Additional tasks and duties as assigned.

A few things we are looking for in a new team member:

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or in a similar leadership role.
• Extensive golf course management experience, including operations, maintenance, and budgeting.
• Proven experience in operations, construction, maintenance, communications, and team management.
• Strong understanding of golf industry trends and best practices.
• Experience managing a large and diverse team, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
• Experience in hospitality and resort style courses an asset.
• Demonstrated financial management skills, including budget management, cost control, and revenue optimization.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue and enhance guest experience.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with corporate and legal requirements.
