We invite you to be part of our evolution.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Global Exploration Economic and Business Intelligence Manager to join our CTO team in Toronto. This is a permanent position.This position will assist the Director of Exploration with economic analysis and functional tasks for our projects globally logistics, reporting, scheduling of work and expenditures. Tasks will include monitoring and compilation of data/reports on exploration drilling costs and coordination of external exploration property submittal. Work will be performed in close collaboration with multi-cultural teams of geoscientists dedicated to achieving success safely and with minimal environmental impact. You must be eligible to work in Canada. Some travel to international field offices and mine sites may be required. Fluent in English. Spanish or Portuguese language skills are considered an asset.Key Responsibilities

  • The role utilizes a work philosophy of safety first and involves ensuring that Vale Base Metals\xe2\x80\x99 Health, Safety, Environment and Community Guidelines are followed and actively promoted to all staff and contractors.
  • Manage process for public & internal exploration reporting, scheduling, and project controls.
  • Business Administration: Track and manage Budgets, Purchase Orders, Licensing, Contract Agreements. Manage SAP invoicing, cost reconciliation, and internal requests for budget allocation.
  • Drill rig production & cost analysis.
  • Analyze financial statements and technical reports to provide detailed third-party project assessments following preliminary geological merit review.
  • Monitor Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves, NPV, IRR, minimum profitability, and metal price sensitivities for third party projects.
  • The successful candidate will evaluate required staff for 2024-2025 for potential roles reporting to them.
About You
  • Education:
  • B.Sc. in Geology/Earth Sciences at a minimum.
  • Experience:
  • Fifteen years of post-graduate experience in mineral exploration/mine production or equivalent. Base Metal Exploration with multiple jurisdiction and deposit type exposure preferred.
  • Ability to register with the PGO as a professional geoscientist in Ontario, Canada.
  • Skills:
  • Committed to holding safety and environmental standards as the top priority.
  • Present concise corporate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Director of Exploration.
  • Managing and integrating incoming data from field programs and producing reports on status and progress.
  • Manage exploration software licenses, software updates and work with the IT department on connectivity, data storage, and backups.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Mathematical proficiency.
  • Advanced technical data presentation and drafting skills.
  • Knowledge of 3D geological modelling and mining software. Experience with Leapfrog, GOCAD, AcQuire, and ArcGIS is beneficial.
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Power BI, Excel.
  • Hands-on, self-sufficient and demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Professional experience with financial software including SAP.
  • Field experience in both brownfield and greenfield exploration.
  • Good interpersonal skills, facilitating positive working relationships, team building and mentoring. Previous exposure to different cultures and languages is highly desirable. Proactively communicate with peers, site teams, and management on a regular basis.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, written and verbal formats.
  • A motivated self-starter with good analytical, problem solving, planning and decision-making skills.
