The City of Abbotsford's GIS team is seeking a self-motivated professional to join their dynamic team as a GIS Technologist.





In this challenging role you will assist in the maintenance, interpretation and dissemination of GIS datasets and related information through the processing and input of GIS spatial and attribute data into a GIS database and other related data governance repositories. You will produce a variety of high quality datasets, digital files, maps and publication of analytical reports.





As the successful candidate for this position, you will have Considerable knowledge and demonstrated ability using Esri GIS software, development of specialized map and information products, and providing support to GIS users. Your strong attention to detail and demonstrated analytical, problem solving and technical skills will support you as you manage, maintain, update and prepare database records.





An ability to communicate effectively; along with good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment are essential to be successful in this position.





To be considered for this position, you must have:




A Diploma in a related discipline. An Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems. One year of experience in GIS maintenance and spatial database development and customer support, including practical experience working with Esri GIS technology. A valid BC Driver's Licence.




This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $36.71 to $43.19.
