Our Waterloo office is looking to fill a Geotechnical Lab Engineer position in our growing Canadian Operations within the Materials Technology Group.

The Waterloo Office of GHD works with local governments, contractors, Federal agencies, and private industries on small to large scale projects across the whole spectrum of transportation, infrastructure, institutional and industrial facility projects. Our team provides integrated geotechnical, construction materials and environmental engineering services in support of designers, owners and constructors.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing soil, rock, and concrete samples for testing in our geotechnical lab
• Performing geotechnical lab testing, including gradations, Proctors, Atterberg limits, compressive strengths, triaxial shear and permeability, and consolidation testing, among other tests.
• Preparation of geotechnical lab reports, including calculations and final report

Skills & Competencies:

• University degree in geotechnical engineering or hydrogeologic science
• 0-2 years of relevant experience
