Strum Consulting is currently looking to expand our Geotechnical team and has an opening in our Antigonish office for a Geotechnical Field Technician to join our team.
Duties
Adhering to Strum's health and safety program and ensuring safety procedures and protocols are followed and improved/revised if/as necessary.
Materials testing on interesting construction projects including testing and sampling concrete, soil and asphalt.
Construction monitoring and inspection.
Geotechnical investigations including borehole and test pits.
Geotechnical laboratory testing.
Collection of accurate data in the field using various types of equipment.
Compilation of clear, concise, and accurate field notes.
Data tabulation and analysis.
Technical report writing for the above-noted projects.
Estimation of project budgets and assistance with proposal preparation.
Qualifications
Willingness to learn and work as a member of a team comprised of biologists, engineers, and technicians.
Must possess a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment to a high degree of detail.
The successful candidate will need to use their own vehicle for work travel purposes, have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, and be willing to travel to projects located throughout Atlantic Canada.
Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
