AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering EIT to be based out of our Winnipeg, MB office.

This position is a full-time role and is expected to begin in February 2023.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct field related work, including coordination with subcontractors, conduct site visits, conduct geotechnical field investigations and monitoring of construction activities (grading, instrumentation installation and monitoring).
  • Collect and analyze data under the supervision of a professional engineer.
  • Conduct engineering design under the supervision of a professional engineer.
  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of a professional engineer.
  • Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Build analytic and design skills.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Analyze and prepare recommendations and reports for projects relating to foundation design including settlement analysis, seepage and slope stability, road structure design, and other geotechnical related projects.
  • Communicate effectively with others within the team and with internal and external clients.
  • Support Senior Engineers with competitive proposals and work plans.
  • Provide guidance and troubleshooting for quality control testing and performance of earthworks such as fill compaction and excavations.
  • Travel to work will be expected within Alberta, Manitoba, northwest Ontario, and other provinces/territories in Canada.
  • You will have an opportunity to travel for site investigations, site inspections, and construction monitoring of projects within Canada.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering with emphasis on Geotechnical Engineering.
Preferred Skills/experience:
  • Knowledge and experience with various geotechnical software, such as Geostudios, Ensoft (LPile, Shaft, Apile), Settle 3D etc.
  • Coop terms of construction administration, or related experience within the civil, geological or geotechnical engineering field.
  • Construction oversight, QAQC, contract administration.
  • Coordination of designs with drafting teams and/or personal proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Highly developed written communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills; conduct yourself with integrity, work within multi-disciplined teams, deal with complex issues, and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Have a high level of initiative and enthusiasm for getting things done.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite; excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Willing and interested in working overtime and weekends
  • willing and interested in working in camp settings, in northern Manitoba and northwest Ontario.
  • Willing and interested in international work
  • Experience in team related job setting is an asset
  • Valid and unrestricted driver\'s license.
