Geotechnical EngineerVancouver, BCAbout the client:Our Vancouver-based client, an engineering consulting firm established in 2006, is seeking a geotechnical engineer to join their team. Specializing in innovative geotechnical services, they have successfully completed over 2,500 projects across British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon. The firm is dedicated to delivering practical, cost-effective engineering solutions. Their extensive services include geotechnical investigations, design of foundations, shoring, underpinning, retaining walls, and landslide assessments, as well as sediment and erosion control, stormwater management, ground improvement, and structural renovations. They also offer project management, site engineering, inspection, and construction supervision.Responsibilities:

• Conduct site visits, utilizing strong geotechnical engineering knowledge to make decisions and recommendations.
• Write reports and analyze data effectively and proficiently.
• Learn, tackle challenges, and grow within a team-oriented environment.
• Coordinate and execute field investigations for geotechnical projects.
• Independently or under guidance, perform engineering analyses for geotechnical assessments.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports.
• Collaborate with design teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into site designs.
• Supervise and report on earthwork and foundation construction activities.

• Bachelor\'s degree in engineering required; Master\'s degree in geotechnical engineering is advantageous.
• Registration as a professional engineer (P.Eng) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, or near completion of the designation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team, demonstrating initiative.
• Proficient in multitasking, time management, and meeting deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and pursue self-education.
• Possession of a Class 5 Driver\'s License and access to a vehicle.
• Experience with CAD, LPile, Slope Stability software, and other relevant tools is beneficial.
• Familiarity with site civil engineering concepts such as erosion control and stormwater management.
