OPPORTUNITY
Pals Geomatics Corp. is looking for an ambitious individual who is seeking a Geomatics Technologist position in a growing Edmonton Land Surveying Company.
Reporting to the respective Department Manager in their Division this position will be responsible for field return processing and preparation, survey plan checking and calculations. At Pals Geomatics, you will use our in-house customized tools and systems to ensure quality control and assurance of field data and drafted plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Field return processing and preparation, survey plan checking and calculations.
Interpret Field Notes / Client Drawings
Survey Calculations
Liaise with Field Crews, Drafter, Supervisor
Using Microsurvey, Autocad, Civil3d, TBC, Magnet Office
Procedures for Commercial RPR, Commercial Grade Cert., and Topographic Surveys
Procedures for Subdivision and Condominium Surveys
Procedures for Commercial, Industrial, and Oil Field Construction
2. Represent Pals in a professional and respectful manner.
3. Be engaged with and proactively advance the Pals Health and Safety program.
4. Responsible for the proper storage and naming of digital / paper files.

QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate must have as a minimum a certificate in Survey, Construction, or Civil Technology from a recognized Technical Institute or University.
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in survey field work, calculating and/or drafting.
Proficiency with software applications including MicroSurvey Autodesk Civil 3D and MS Office Programs an asset.
Working knowledge of, and a minimum of 3 years' experience with complex construction drawings in various formats from engineers and architects for buildings and the industrial and oil & gas sectors.
High level of skill with grading design and 3D modelling software.
Experience in processing Lidar data sets using appropriate software.
Experience in field operation of HD Scanners for capturing pipe racks and industrial sites and also processing of the collected data into 3D drawings and models an asset.
