We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated student to join our team for a valuable learning experience.

As a Geology Summer Student, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced Geology team. This role will provide you with hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of reservoir characterization in the Pouce-Gordondale-Elmworth areas in the oil and gas industry. As a heavily integrated technical team, we advance our understanding in a multidisciplinary environment using a continuous improvement framework.

The term of the position is for 4 months, with an anticipated start date in May, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:



Identify the specific landing zone of numerous horizontal wells in the Montney and Doig formations in NW Alberta and NE British Columbia. Use StarSteer software to re-steer legacy horizontal wells to evaluate stratigraphic placement, supporting improved understanding of historical well performance. Assist with cleanup, organization and quality control of projects within StarSteer to improve data integrity and usability. Export, load and validate geological and well datasets to ensure accurate and consistent inputs for interpretation and analysis. Support evaluation of well performance by integrating geological, stratigraphic, drilling, completions and production data to identify potential performance drivers. Utilize software including, but not limited to GeoGraphix, Spotfire, StarSteer and Excel. Prepare final project presentation to communicate findings to technical team and management.

Education, Skills & Abilities:



Current enrollment in a 3rd or 4th year Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Geology with strong academic performance and a passion for geology. Foundational understanding of geological interpretation concepts, particularly stratigraphy, petrophysics, well logs and well correlations. Experience with, or strong interest in learning, software such as GeoGraphix and StarSteer. Experience with Python and Spotfire is considered an asset. Familiarity with directional drilling operations is considered an asset. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in our Calgary Office is required. Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
