Position Overview



Our Geosciences team is looking for a Geophysics summer student to work in our Calgary office for a 4-month term. We welcome graduate students with relevant work experience who are returning to school in the Fall, to submit their cover letter and resume.


Key Responsibilities



Working alongside a team of professional geoscientists and engineers within one of our two Asset Divisions, specific responsibilities and learnings will include:


Data loading, interpretation, and visualization of 2D and 3D seismic data Well tie and synthetic seismogram generation to link seismic data with well logs Structure and fault mapping, and time to depth conversion Utilizing software's such as but not limited to GeoScout, Seisware and GeoSyn Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team Present to team members, as well as management

Primary Qualifications



Students in the process of obtaining an undergraduate or graduate degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Science, or Geological Engineering. Previous experience in the energy industry would be an asset but is not required. Specific qualifications include: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail Ability to work in a team environment, and strong verbal and written communication skills Self-starter and motivated to initiate projects and work towards innovative solutions * A genuine interest in applying geophysics to oil and gas exploration and development
